Pipelineforum 2024 - Small steps towards the energy transition
The energy transition is a mammoth task that affects all areas of our society and economy. Accordingly, there is a great deal of attention for the ‘mega projects’ that are currently being pushed into realisation in the media. However, there are also a large number of smaller, local projects that are significantly advancing the energy transition through their direct emission savings or scientific findings.
At this year's Pipeline Forum on 21 November 2024, we focused precisely on these smaller, local projects. The drivers of these projects have set themselves ambitious targets for reducing energy consumption or continuing to use or permanently and safely store the harmful emissions from conventional energy generation plants.
For our event, we were able to attract many experts to give specialised presentations on their individual projects. The focus was not only on the challenges that arise when applying for funding or obtaining public and private law authorisations. The innovative technologies used for the first time in these projects were also highlighted, demonstrating the impressive innovative power of smaller energy transition projects.
Unlike in previous years, we decided to hold this year's Pipeline Forum at our own site in Tostedt. This gave participants the opportunity to join a guided tour of our depot and our new administration building after the lunch break. This gave everyone an opportunity to gain an impression of how the many pieces of the energy transition puzzle fit together at VORWERK and how the projects to realise the hydrogen core network are being implemented.
After and before the respective specialist presentations, the event also offered the opportunity for an open and critical exchange of ideas.
We would like to thank all participants for the interesting event and look forward to welcoming you to the Pipeline Forum 2025 next year!
