New office building Tostedt - groundbreaking ceremony

This week we started work on our new office building at "Platz 2000" in Tostedt. Beforehand, the start of construction was heralded with the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony (from left: Site Manager Marc Lorenzen, Managing Director Klaus-Dieter Ehlen and Operations Manager Matthias Kapahnke).
We are thus able to implement the last stage of the plan of our company founder and namesake Friedrich Vorwerk, which already in the 1990s envisaged moving the entire headquarters of our company from Niedersachsenstraße to the industrial estate he had planned on the B75.
The new office building will provide a new, modern workplace for around 150 employees and the Executive Board. The employees of our subsidiary MESA Elektrotechnik will also move from their location in Barsbüttel to the new building in Tostedt.
Of course, sustainability also plays a major role in the new building: in addition to a photovoltaic system on the roof, a combined heat and power plant will also be built to heat the building. In the planned canteen, cooking will be done sustainably with products from regional agriculture. The move is planned for the end of 2023 at the latest.
